Description
 

Dr. BAO Sheng is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Data Science and Digital Innovation at Hong Kong Shue Yan University. His research focuses on embodied intelligence, robotics and autonomous systems, and digital twin. He has published extensively in high-impact international journals, including first-author publications in Advanced Engineering Informatics and co-authored publications in Nature Communications. He also holds five granted invention patents. As (Co-)Project Manager, he has led three competitive research projects funded by organisations including the Hong Kong Highways Department and the Smart Traffic Fund. His research has received broad international recognition. He was selected for the Hubei Province “100 Talents Program” in 2025, received the Gold Medal at the 2026 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, and won the Gold Medal at the 2025 China Postdoctoral Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. He was invited to deliver a keynote speech at the 2025 International Conference on Intelligent Traffic and Transportation, serves as Guest Editor of the Special Issue “Cooperative Perception for Modern Transportation” in Drones, and received the Excellent Youth Report Award at the 4th (2024) Spatial Information Industry and International Standard Conference. He has also been supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission’s Research Talent Hub Scheme of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
