The Global Game Jam (GGJ) is the world’s largest game creation event, bringing together participants from all backgrounds to design and develop games within a challenging 48-hour timeframe. The event emphasizes creativity, learning, and collaboration, offering participants a chance to explore new technologies, form teams, and build innovative projects inspired by a secret theme revealed at the start of the jam.

The Game Development Laboratory from the Department of Applied Data Science is delighted to invite you to our upcoming "One-Day Integrated Motion Capture Training Workshop". This hands-on workshop will equip participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills to set up, calibrate, and perform a basic live-streaming or recorded capture session, integrating full-body (Xsens MVN Link), hand (Manus Gloves), and facial (Faceware) data into target 3D applications such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or Maya.

The Department of Applied Data Science is excited to announce an Intensive Workshop Series on Digital Competency! The upcoming session, Build & Publish Your Flappy Bird Game in Unity, will be held on November 17, 2025, at RHB504, GD Lab. Participants will learn to create their own Flappy Bird game in Unity. Through the session, participants will gain valuable experience in game creation. By the end of the workshop, each participant will have a fully functional 2D game ready to play and publish on the online platform Itch.io. This engaging workshop offers an excellent opportunity for participants to enhance their technical skills, foster creativity, and explore the fundamentals of digital game development.

The seminar, Enhancing Customer Experience with XR Technologies, will discuss how these technologies can be used to enhance the customer experience. Additionally, it will address the prevalent factors influencing users’ acceptance of these XR applications.

The 5-day online Python Workshop is aimed at complete beginners who have never programmed before, as well as existing programmers who want to increase their skillset by learning Python.

The 2-hour fundamental workshop is tailor-made for SYU and will be delivered by AWS certified instructor on AWS Cloud Essentials for Business Leaders. Participants can learn the basic concepts of cloud computing and how a cloud strategy can help companies meet business objectives.
