The Department of Applied Data Science is organizing a 5-day Python programming beginners workshop. Python is not only one of the most popular programming languages but also one of the easiest to learn. That’s one of the reasons why the interpreted, high-level, general-purpose programming language has been gaining popularity lately. This course is aimed at complete beginners who have never programmed before, as well as existing programmers who want to increase their skillset by learning Python. Below are the course highlights:

1. Course overview and Python Setup, running simple python scripts 

2. Python object and data structure basics (Tuples, dictionary, lists, dataframes) 

3. Comparison operators (Arithmetic, logical, comparison, assignment, etc.) 

4. Arrays 

5. Loops, conditional statements, etc. 

6. Methods and functions 

7. Modules and packages in Python 

8. One basic project with Python
