On 15 September 2026, Intangible Cultural Heritage Office (ICH) representatives visited the Virtual Reality Laboratory (VRL) to review the project titled "Metaversing Intangible Cultural Heritage: Documenting, Transmitting and Promoting the Cheung Chau Jiao Festival", led by Prof. Selina Chan in collaboration with the VR Lab. The project is an excellent demonstration of digital humanities, recreating the festive scenes of the 2025 Cheung Chau Jiao Festival through 3D modelling technology and allowing the public to explore key locations, including the Pak Tai Temple Playground, the temporary opera shed, and the Pak Tai Temple itself within a virtual environment.

The Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China visited our Virtual Reality Laboratory (VR Lab) at Hong Kong Shue Yan University (HKSYU) on 26th Feb 2025, focusing on the subject of the integration of virtual and augmented reality in education.
