On 14 August 2025, the Department held its annual Departmental Retreat and Dinner, bringing together senior management and departmental colleagues to celebrate the achievements of the 2025/26 academic year and to discuss future directions for growth and development. The Department was honoured to have the support and presence of senior management at this special occasion. The event provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on the Department’s accomplishments over the past year and to express our sincere appreciation for the continuous guidance, leadership, and encouragement received from the University’s senior management team. The Department would also like to extend its heartfelt thanks to all colleagues for their dedication and contributions to teaching, research, programme development, and programme administration. Their commitment and professionalism have been instrumental in advancing the Department’s academic excellence and strategic objectives.

The retreat featured constructive discussions on key priorities for the coming year, including departmental strategic planning, research funding opportunities, and future academic initiatives. The occasion also served as a warm welcome to our three new colleagues, whose expertise and enthusiasm will further strengthen the Department’s teaching, research, and service missions. The ADS Department looks forward to another year of collaboration, innovation, and continued success as we work together to achieve new milestones in education and research.
