We are proud to announce that our faculty member, Dr. WONG Ying Kit, was invited to serve as an official judge for the QR Chatbot AI-Generated Mascot Design and Naming Competition.

Organized jointly by the Education Bureau, the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic & Vocational Qualifications (HKCAAVQ), and the Qualifications Framework (QF), this landmark initiative marks a significant milestone in the ongoing digitization of the Qualifications Register (QR). The competition was designed to foster public understanding of lifelong learning and flexible progression pathways while encouraging the creative application of artificial intelligence and prompt engineering in the community.

The competition invited full-time students and Hong Kong residents across Student and Open groups to leverage AI tools in designing a bilingual-named mascot embodying the core characteristics of the QR: Accessible, Integrated, Informative, and User-friendly. Submissions closed on April 30, 2026, and were rigorously evaluated across four key criteria: visual aesthetics (30%), AI application and prompt documentation (30%), creativity (20%), and thematic relevancy (20%). Official competition results were announced in July 2026.

Dr. Wong’s participation underscores our department's active engagement with government and industry partners in promoting innovative technology adoption, digital transformation, and lifelong learning across Hong Kong society.
