By emphasizing the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) research tools and open-source applications, the Department of Applied Data Science (ADS) has continuously equipped students with cutting-edge skills and fostered a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning by all means.

With the support and engagement of students, the Department held its first "Open-source Learning Mobilization" meeting on 26th September 2024, at the Innovation and Incubation Hub (IIH) at HKSYU. This meeting is a key component of the departmental "Open-source Learning Initiative." It focused on sharing the use of the latest AI tools in research (e.g., Git) and the concepts of applying open-source learning materials for knowledge building.
