The Department of Applied Data Science at Hong Kong Shue Yan University is proud to serve as an academic partner for the upcoming AInsane Hackathon: Reimagining Guest Experience for Star Ferry, co-organized by the Hong Kong Society of Artificial Intelligence and Innovation (HKSAII) and the AInsane initiative. Supported by industry giants including Cyberport, Samsung, Google Cloud, and Star Ferry Hong Kong, this high-impact, fast-paced sprint invites our students to bring a fresh digital perspective to one of Hong Kong’s most beloved heritage landmarks.
Scheduled for Sunday, 30 August 2026 at The Arcade, Cyberport, this intensive 3-hour hackathon challenges participants to leverage cutting-edge AI tools, IoT, and mobile frameworks across two key focal areas: Heritage Integration & Storytelling and Environmental Comfort & Digital Engagement. Whether you want to weave digital narratives into the classic ferry journey or design smart solutions for modern passenger comfort, this is your chance to pitch directly to executive judges from Star Ferry, Samsung Electronics HK, Mei Ah Entertainment, and VTC, while competing for prizes worth up to 3,000 HKD.
