The Game Development Laboratory from the Department of Applied Data Science is delighted to invite you to our upcoming "One-Day Integrated Motion Capture Training Workshop".

This hands-on workshop will equip participants with foundational knowledge and practical skills to set up, calibrate, and perform a basic live-streaming or recorded capture session, integrating full-body (Xsens MVN Link), hand (Manus Gloves), and facial (Faceware) data into target 3D applications such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or Maya.

The newly established motion capture facility offers significant opportunities for both research and teaching. It enables high-fidelity human movement analysis for projects in animation, virtual/augmented reality, human–computer interaction, biomechanics, sports science, digital performance, and AI-driven character animation. For teaching, it provides students with industry-standard tools to develop practical skills in real-time performance capture, game development, and immersive media production, thereby bridging classroom learning with professional workflows. Details of the event are as follows:

  • Date: 19 Dec, 2025  (Friday)
  • Time: 9:00am - 16:30pm
  • Venue: RHB 507

Your participation in this practical workshop is highly encouraged, especially if you are interested in incorporating cutting-edge motion capture technology into your research or courses.
